About Me

Hi,

My name is Terry Reese, and I’m currently the Head of Digital Initiatives and Infrastructure Support at The Ohio State University Libraries.  Please, welcome to my little slice of the web.  This site serves as the jump-off point for folks looking for information about me.  About my work, my contact information — various bits and pieces of information that have recently found themselves scattered about the web.

A little bit about me.  Prior to Spring 2013, I had lived most of my life in Oregon, and spend nearly all my professional life as a librarian at the Oregon State University (ORST) Library.  Starting as a classified staff member primarily doing cartographic cataloging in late 1999, I eventually decided to pursue an MLIS from Florida State University in 2001 and after completing the degree, ultimately held positions as the Digital Production Unit Head/Digital Applications Librarian, as well as an endowed chair, the Gray Family Chair for Innovative Library Services while at ORST.

In April 2013, I decided that it was time to take a chance and do something new, so I accepted a position at The Ohio State University Libraries (OSU) as their Head of Digital Initiatives.  It represents a new adventure for me and my family as we transition from being west coasters, to be Midwesterners in the only state that apparently matters during political elections.  In 2018 my title changed slightly as I assumed responsibility for the infrastructure support team.

One of the difficulties of having a long-term digital presence is that content tends to become scattered throughout the years.  Unfortunately, this has been exasperated during my move from Oregon State to The Ohio State University since most of my digital content was hosted on my personal university web space.  I’ve tried to capture most of that content, if it’s still relevant, and make it available through this jump-off point, but if you find that something is missing — just let me know.  It’s pretty likely that I have it somewhere and can quickly resurrect it on this resource.

If you wish to contact me, you can find a link to various methods on the Contacts page.  Additionally, if you are interested in contacting me for information around me availability around speaking, workshops, or consulting — please see: Speaking, workshops, or consulting.

Thanks,

–TR
